Pause for thought

  1. Wishing you all the very best to break the impasse – sending you moral support from Britain! Am glued to the blog. Stay awesome!

  2. You guys are on the leading edge, so there’s bound to be challenges – so far you’re all doing a fantastic job! Keep up the good work and best wishes from the NOC!

  3. Hope it all works out.

How are you stopping the onion tanks from freezing while you wait or are they just massive enough to cope for this period. Also it wasn’t clear from the pictures if they had lids or not.

    Thanks, Keith.

  4. Wishing you all the very best in resolving the boiler glitch! With the skills you guys have there and back home, I have no doubt you’ll have it up and running soon! Like your other followers I’m glued to Lake Ellsworth Live. Thank you for keeping us up to date!

  5. Thanks for following the SLE Programme. @3 Keith – the tanks don’t have lids and are currently being heated by an electric heating element in the boiler that is separate from the burner and unaffected by the failure (for this exact situation). The element is not powerful enough to heat the water for the drilling, hence the need to get the burner working again before drilling can recommence.

  6. Just wanted to say a huge thanks to all of you following our progress and sending messages of encouragement. It is really appreciated down here. We are working hard to resolve the issues and seem to be making progress. Will issue another update very soon.
    Cheers Chris (Programme Manager)

  7. Sending a message like this is a first for me (!) but I am so inspired by your work. I echo all of the comments and good wishes sent by others and hope that the greatest Christmas present for you all will be that you can resume drilling. This project is truly amazing.
