  1. Hi Field Team

That’s pretty cool seeing the deployment system working for real on the ice! Seems an age ago we were practicing that on the quayside here at NOCS. We’ll be watching the reports with bated breath this week! Keep up the good work. Kev.

  2. Great work. One thing I noticed tho, the guy in the brown overalls does no work. He just chats to people or leans against things. I assuming he’s the boss 😉

  3. Amazing how quickly they got it all done under his gaze though !
Good Luck everyone, this blog is great. Keep the information coming 🙂

  4. This video and Dave Jordan’s post lend weight to the idea that Lego should be bringing out an ‘Antarctic Lake Drilling’ range of kits, similar to their ‘Mars Mission’ and ‘Aqua Raiders’ and others…

There would be cute minifigures in the appropriate garb (including the ‘standing-around brown-overalls boss’). There would be a traverse, Rothera station, camp tents, containers-with-hose, crane etc. The probe would have a range of creatures that can be attached (not to scale). Eg eukaryote with specialised antifreeze organelles, cane toad, Cthulhu, Shergar etc
